Opportunities to invest in Grassroots Football in Mizoram have never been better.
The Mizoram Football Association have successfully launched and are delivering on an ambitious Grassroots Plan .
There is a groundswell of participation through informal football, schools football, charitable programmes and private initiatives.
India’s first FIFA Grassroots course was conducted in Mizoram in October 2012.
30 participants involved in Grassroots football were trained under the course. Subsequently, Mizoram Football Association also conducted another Grassroots course in February 2013; there are more than 60 trained Grassroots Leaders in Mizoram within a year.
Mizoram Football Association started with a Grassroots centre in its capital Aizawl and followed by Grassroots centres in all districts of Mizoram which is 8 in total.
Each of these centres are controlled and administered by the district FA under the guidance of MFA and the children are trained by Grassroots leaders trained by the FIFA/AIFF Grassroorts course.
The programme provides Mizo children the opportunity to train and play on a good pitch with the best coaches. Since 2012, the MFA successfully completed 11 courses of Grassroots programme as on 30th June 2016.
